At Giganet the Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer reports into the Infrastructure and Security Lead and is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of Giganet’s Corporate IT infrastructure including Azure, Office 365, AWS cloud services and on-premises systems ensuring 24/7 availability.
In this role you will ensure security best practices are adopted across the corporate and customer estates whilst achieving both Giganet’s digital transformation journey to the modern workplace and aligning future business requirements with the IT strategy.
We are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of Active directory, Azure, Office 365, Endpoint, Conditional access, MFA and DLP and proven knowledge of Network protocols and methodologies
Day to day activities within this role will include:
- Working on multiple projects at the same time, ranging from long-term challenging projects to addressing live issues and bottlenecks in our infrastructure as they arise
- Work closely with the IT management team, 3rd Parties and business owners to deliver efficient infrastructure services
- Ensuring excellent working relationships and the department benefits from collaborative working and the sharing of knowledge
- Implement best practices ensuring continued availability of systems and hardware infrastructure
- Network configuration, optimization of LAN, WAN,WLAN,VPN’s, Switches and Firewalls.
- Ensure systems are patched for security vulnerabilities and updates
- Contribute to the effective governance of projects of project deliverables to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and adhere to the IT infrastructure roadmaps and strategy
- Being an escalation point for L2 support engineers for any issues that may arise from the helpdesk
- Troubleshooting technical faults, working with external vendors and service providers to achieve fault resolution.
- Maintain up to data knowledge on current and emerging infrastructure and cloud technologies
- Undertake DR testing of Key systems and infrastructure
This role may require working outside of business hours and or on-call support.
About you:
You will have a passion for your work and be driven to work in our growing and evolving business. W are looking for candidates with strong experience working in Microsoft environments, including an excellent understanding of Active directory, Azure, Office 365, Endpoint, Conditional access, MFA and DLP. The ideal candidate has working knowledge administration and support of Linux systems, proven knowledge of Network protocols and methodologies and virtual and Physical Server Infrastructure knowledge.
